Pure Water Soquel

[ in collaboration with Brito.Rodriguez ]

Pure Water Soquel is Soquel Creek Water District's groundwater replenishment and seawater intrusion prevention project.  In this major ($145M) infrastructure project, conveyance pipelines will carry treated wastewater from the main sewage treatment facility at Neary Lagoon to the heart of the project, the "Advanced Water Purification Facility" at Chanticleer Avenue and Soquel Drive, just adjacent to Highway 1 and a new pedestrian overpass bridge.  From the AWPF, purified water will be conveyed further eastward to three injection wells, where it will recharge the groundwater basin.  As part of the AWPF project, the water district secured a former glass showroom and shop to serve as an Education Center and offices for the plant. Paul Burgin Architecture, in collaboration with Brito.Rodriguez, is leading a highly qualified team of consultants in refurbishing the building for this purpose.  Construction is starting in May of 2025.
