Boulder Creek

[ in collaboration with Karen Amiel ]

Perched on a ridge in a beautifully wooded area above Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains, this existing home was reworked both inside and out in collaboration with a very design-savvy owner. New exterior decks created a more logical entry sequence and allowed for better flow around the house. Downstairs, the kitchen was completely gutted, with all new cabinets and appliances. Walls were reconfigured to create more functional guest and dining spaces, and new bookshelves added to the double-height living room. Upstairs, the master bedroom suite was completely redone, with walls again rearranged for better circulation, and new closets, cabinets, fixtures, and lighting. Finally, an (as-yet unbuilt) garage was designed to provide enclosed parking south of the detached studio building.
